Sector 3 Solutions is a not-for-profit company - we cover our costs and provide a high quality service by competing for contracts with the Public Sector.

This is Sector 3’s fifth year, and we have seen fundamental changes in Third Sector business as Government seeks to engage the Private and Voluntary Sector to provide local services via public procurement and competitive tendering.

Our response to this new environment has been to promote Sector 3 as a model for supplying community based services to the public sector. Building on existing work, we have acquired a robust profile for addressing the health and social needs of deprived communities across the whole of the North East of England. This has taken the form of a number of high profile projects, commissioned by bodies such as Fresh Smoke Free North East, County Durham DAAT (Drug and Alcohol Action Team), South of Tyne & Wear PCT, Revolving Doors Agency and County Durham PCT.

This year, work has concentrated on drugs and alcohol and smoking cessation training and we are currently developing our portfolio to include other issues on the public health agenda such as obesity and healthy eating, healthy lifestyles and exercise. We continue to offer a range of services to local communities and local people.

We have worked hard to ensure that, while we have developed relationships with public sector bodies and commissioners, our community roots are promoted and nurtured so that the quality of our work is not lost in
bureaucracy and finance.
